In celebration of Virgil Abloh’s Figures of Speech exhibition opening at the ICA Boston in 2021, Nike and OFF-WHITE teamed up to launch a new Air Force collaboration with the Nike Air Force 1 OFF-WHITE University Gold Metallic Silver.
The Nike Air Force 1 OFF-WHITE University Gold Metallic Silver features a University Gold leather upper with Metallic Silver Swooshes and orange tab detailing. From there, foam construction is exposed at the ankle and tongue, continuing Abloh’s themes of deconstruction. Signature “AIR” text on the sole and a monochromatic zip-tie wrapped around the laces completes the design

The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘University Gold’ reunites Virgil Abloh with Bruce Kilgore’s iconic 1982 basketball shoe. Abloh dips the leather upper in a rich mustard yellow hue, save for a silver Swoosh outlined in contrast zigzag stitching and the designer’s signature Helvetica text on the medial quarter panel. A matching yellow midsole features ‘AIR’ printed on the lateral sidewall. Exposed foam construction is utilized on the collar and tongue, the latter decorated with a woven tag that displays ‘OFF’ Nike Air branding. Abloh leaves his final mark by looping his signature zip tie around the laces.
